About FEMNET
FEMNET is a pan-African, feminist and membership-based network headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. Established in 1988, the organisation works with women's rights organisations, feminists and activists across Africa and in the diaspora.

About the UN Women ACT Project
FEMNET, together with UN Women and other partners, has been implementing the Advocacy, Coalition Building and Transformative Feminist Action to End Violence Against Women (ACT) project. The initiative is a partnership between the European Commission and UN Women, working to accelerate progress towards ending violence against women and girls (VAWG).
The project began in October 2024 and is scheduled to close in November 2026. In East and Southern Africa, the project has focused on strengthening the institutional capacity, resilience and care practices of regional and sub-regional women's rights organisations, feminist organisations, networks and coalitions.
Purpose of the Evaluation
The selected consultant will conduct a comprehensive end-of-project evaluation covering the full implementation period from October 2024 to November 2026. The evaluation will examine the project's design, implementation, results and contribution to feminist movement strengthening and efforts to end violence against women and girls.
The assignment will also identify lessons learned, good practices, challenges, significant stories of change and recommendations for future interventions.

Applicants are expected to propose a comprehensive methodology appropriate for assessing the project. A mixed-methods approach is preferred, combining qualitative and quantitative methods where appropriate.
