About the Programme
The Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme, implemented by the United Nations Development Programme, supports community-led initiatives addressing global environmental and sustainable development challenges. The Southern Africa Regional Workshop will create a platform for country representatives to review progress under Operational Phase 7, share lessons and good practices, and strengthen cooperation as countries move forward with Operational Phase 8.
The GEF SGP Southern Africa Regional Workshop grant offers a significant opportunity for organisations in Southern Africa to host a major regional environmental event. The USD 100,000 budget covers participant travel, accommodation, conference facilities, field visits, exhibitions, and professional documentation. Applicants must demonstrate strong event management experience, institutional capacity, and the ability to produce high-quality knowledge products. Co-financing is mandatory. The deadline is July 27, 2026.
