About the Programme
The SGCI Multilateral Research Call supports the implementation of the African Union's Science, Technology and Innovation Strategy for Africa 2034 (STISA-2034). STISA-2034 positions science, technology and innovation as essential tools for Africa's transformation into a knowledge-based and innovation-driven continent.
The call is funded by participating African Science Granting Councils, IDRC, Government of Norway, UK's FCDO, and Wellcome. Approximately US$12 million is available, with each consortium member receiving CAD 50,000 – 300,000.

The SGCI STISA 2034 Multilateral Research Call is a premier funding opportunity for African research institutions addressing continental priorities. With approximately US$12 million available and funding ranging from CAD 50,000 to 300,000 per consortium member, this call supports ambitious, multi-country research that generates new knowledge and contributes to sustainable development.
