The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) was established in 2019 with a £200 million endowment and a ten-year mandate from the UK Home Office to identify and support effective strategies that prevent children and young people from becoming involved in violence . YEF focuses on building evidence and improving prevention and early intervention across sectors and community settings .
About the Programme
The Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Prevention Programme is part of a wider YEF programme of funding, evaluation, and research over three years on what works to prevent and respond to violence against women and girls . Objective 2 focuses on secondary prevention: early, targeted support for children and young people who are beginning to show emerging concerns, before behaviours escalate to the point where statutory services such as children's social care, policing, or youth justice are required .
