About the Fellowship
The Center for Climate and Security (CCS), an initiative of the Council on Strategic Risks, has opened applications for the 2026–2027 Gordon R. Sullivan Climate and Ecological Security Fellowship. The professional development programme is designed for emerging professionals working at the intersection of climate change, environmental issues, and national or international security.
Named in honour of General Gordon Sullivan, a former U.S. Army leader and early advocate for integrating climate and environmental considerations into national security planning, the fellowship seeks to cultivate the next generation of public servants and professionals working on climate-security challenges.

Special consideration will be given to applicants whose public service careers have been affected by U.S. federal job cuts, budget reductions, and/or policy changes since 2025.
10-month climate-security professional development programme.

At least 7 of 10 sessions.
